Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
Controle Remoto Universal is designed to work locally on your home network. The app collects the minimum information necessary to function:
- Local network device data: IP addresses and device names of TVs and media players discovered on your Wi-Fi network. This data is stored only on your device and never sent to our servers.
- Device preferences: Your saved devices, nicknames, macros, app shortcuts, and app settings. All stored locally on your device using a private database (Room/SQLite).
- ADB authentication keys: An RSA key pair generated to authenticate with ADB-enabled devices. Stored in the app's private internal storage and never transmitted externally.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identification.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not collect browsing history or app usage analytics beyond what Google AdMob reports (see Section 4).
- We do not upload your device list, macros, or remote commands to any external server.
- We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or files.
3. How We Use Information
All data collected by the app is used solely to provide the remote control functionality:
- Connecting to and controlling your TV or media device over your local Wi-Fi network.
- Remembering your saved devices and preferences between sessions.
- Scanning your local subnet to discover ADB-enabled devices (port 5555).
None of this data is shared with third parties for marketing or analytics purposes by us.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Controle Remoto Universal displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data about your device and ad interactions in accordance with Google's own privacy policies. This may include:
- Advertising ID (resettable in your device settings under Google > Ads)
- Device type, operating system version, and general location (country/region)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
AdMob's data collection is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. We integrate the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to present you with a consent dialog for personalized advertising in accordance with GDPR and CCPA requirements. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time through the app's settings.
To opt out of personalized ads, visit your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
5. Permissions
The app requests the following Android permissions and uses them only as described:
- ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: To determine your Wi-Fi subnet for local device discovery. No data leaves your device.
- CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE: To receive mDNS and SSDP discovery packets from TVs on your local network.
- ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Required by Android OS for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning. We do not record or store your physical location.
- BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH_SCAN / BLUETOOTH_CONNECT: To list paired Bluetooth devices so they can be used as remote targets. No Bluetooth data is sent externally.
- INTERNET: To connect to your TV over the local network and to load advertisements via AdMob.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE: To keep ADB and Bluetooth connections alive when the app is in the background.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To restore background connection services after device reboot, if configured.
6. Data Storage & Security
All data (saved devices, macros, settings, ADB keys) is stored in the app's private internal storage on your device. It is not accessible to other apps and is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app. We do not operate any backend servers or cloud storage for this app.
7. Children's Privacy
Controle Remoto Universal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. Since all app data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise these rights at any time by clearing the app's data (Settings → Apps → Controle Remoto Universal → Clear Data) or by uninstalling the app.
For data collected by Google AdMob, please refer to Google's privacy controls and the Google account privacy settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify users via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
